In today’s increasingly adversarial legal environment, lawyers must advocate zealously while maintaining the professionalism, judgment, and civility expected of the legal profession. The way attorneys communicate—with judges, opposing counsel, clients, colleagues, and other legal professionals—can significantly affect credibility, relationships, litigation outcomes, and the public’s confidence in the justice system.
In this CLE Ethics/Professional Responsibility webinar organized by The Knowledge Group, the program faculty will examine the critical relationship between civility, communication, ethics, and effective advocacy. Drawing on extensive experience in appellate practice, legal ethics, professionalism, and continuing legal education, the faculty will explore how lawyers can remain persuasive and appropriately assertive without crossing the line into unnecessary hostility, disrespect, or unprofessional conduct.
